Non-Surgical Periorbital Aesthetics

Non-Surgical Periorbital Aesthetics

What is Non-Surgical Periorbital Aesthetics?

The goal of non-surgical periorbital aesthetics procedures is to achieve a healthier and more natural appearance around the eyes without requiring a long recovery period.

Non-Surgical Periorbital Aesthetics in Turkey

When the patient’s history and the issue being addressed are thoroughly evaluated during the examination, situations where surgery is not absolutely necessary can be identified. For individuals where surgery may be risky for health reasons, or as an additional enhancement to the surgeries we perform, there are a wide range of non-surgical periorbital aesthetic procedures and methods available.

Can Wrinkles Be Eliminated with Non-Surgical Periorbital Aesthetics?

Deep lines and wrinkles around the eyes cannot be eliminated solely by surgical methods. At this stage, botulinum toxin offers a very valuable treatment option.

Crow’s feet at the corners of the eyes, vertical lines between the eyebrows, and forehead wrinkles can be treated with botulinum toxin in individuals of all ages and genders. Additionally, botulinum toxin applications can improve the shape of the eyebrows and intervene in eyebrow drooping.

For wrinkles and deep lines around the eyes, intradermal fillers applied under the skin with a needle or a blunt cannula, and especially mesotherapy applications specifically tailored for this region, are effective in appropriate patients.

Different mesotherapy products, which include reconstructive peptides, vitamins, antioxidants, skin brighteners, blood circulation boosters, and often cross-linked hyaluronic acid for hydration, are injected under the skin through a needle, depending on the mix suitable for you.

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) application is another effective method in revitalizing the eye area, removing bruises, and eliminating fine lines. In this method, therapeutic molecules from the patient's own blood are concentrated and delivered to the required areas using needles, dermarollers, or needle radiofrequency devices. Since it is derived from the patient's own cells, there is no potential for allergic reactions, side effects, or complications.

In addition to needle-based treatments, device-based methods are also available for eliminating lines and wrinkles. The main ones include laser treatments, plasma device applications, and needle or needle-free bipolar radiofrequency applications.

Can Dark Circles Under the Eyes Be Eliminated with Non-Surgical Periorbital Aesthetics?

In patients where dark circles and hollows under the eyes are prominent but do not require surgery, filling treatment applied to the bone structure under the eye helps many patients achieve a healthy appearance non-surgically.

For patients with sagging and hollowness in the lower eyelid-cheek junction and mid-face area, fillers that restore the integrity of the eyelid-cheek junction can provide a surgery-equivalent look for up to 2 years in suitable patients.

Mesotherapy applications with increasingly effective ingredients and technological advancements in bipolar radiofrequency devices are commonly preferred nowadays for dark circles under the eyes.

There is No Universal Miracle Method for Dark Circles Under the Eyes!

Dark circles, bags, and hollows under the eyes originate from individual backgrounds or underlying conditions. The decision on which method will be more effective in which patient or whether combined treatment is necessary can only be made with a detailed patient evaluation, including examination. Sometimes, lifestyle, underlying diseases, medications, or certain eye conditions cause these issues, and solutions can be provided through adjustments without additional aesthetic treatments.

In most patients, collagen loss due to genetic background and aging, ligament loosening, connective tissue weakening, and bone resorption progress over time, and the treatment is personalized. In summary, there is no single treatment method that works the same for everyone, or a method that works for one person may not show the same effectiveness in another. Therefore, method selection should not be made blindly, and one should not expect the same results from popular methods in the media without a detailed doctor evaluation and a personalized plan.

Can Non-Surgical Eyelid Aesthetics Be Applied to the Upper Eyelid Hollows?

Upper eyelid hollowness can be congenital or caused by trauma or conditions that lead to fat tissue loss. There are both surgical and non-surgical methods for addressing this issue depending on its severity. In cases of very deep hollows, the most effective and permanent solution is provided through surgeries that involve fat transfer or fat tissue grafting. In some individuals with less pronounced hollowness or to correct mild asymmetry, hyaluronic acid-based fillers are very successful in this area.

For these procedures, which require advanced anatomical knowledge of the eye and surrounding tissues, it is crucial to consult a doctor with experience in this field.

Which Other Areas Are Treated with Fillers in Non-Surgical Periorbital Aesthetics?

In addition to the frequently applied fillers for the lower eyelid, fillers can also be used in the upper eyelid and eyebrow area to eliminate sagging and hollowness caused by eyebrow drooping, achieving a healthier and more youthful upper eyelid. In certain cases, the addition of temporal fillers can help the eye area appear fresher.

Fillers applied in the eye area differ significantly in terms of quality, quantity, and application techniques from those applied to other areas of the face. Therefore, the doctor’s experience with filler applications specifically for the eye area and the selection of appropriate materials for this region have a significant impact on the results.

What Other Methods Exist in Non-Surgical Periorbital Aesthetics?

Bipolar radiofrequency-based devices developed for lifting sagging skin, reducing wrinkles, and revitalizing the skin are especially helpful during the postoperative period, as they provide a pain-free, non-invasive, and long-lasting treatment option for those who are afraid of surgery or do not want to go through a long recovery process.

Lasers and chemical peeling methods are available to accelerate skin regeneration by exfoliating. The main idea behind these treatments is to exfoliate the skin superficially to promote the production of new and fresh skin. These methods often have seasonal restrictions and cannot be applied during sunny seasons, and a brief recovery period may be required.

In recent years, thread lifting methods, frequently mentioned in popular media and already in use for a long time, allow for eyebrow corner lifting and almond-shaped eye aesthetics, where the outer corner of the eyelid is tightened.

These non-surgical periorbital aesthetics procedures using threads placed under the skin offer advantages such as no incisions and a quick return to normal life, but they provide short-term results. Therefore, they are suitable for patients who do not want surgery and are willing to accept a treatment duration of around six months.

What Are the New Technologies in Non-Surgical Periorbital Aesthetics?

In addition to laser devices, which have been used for many years in non-surgical periorbital aesthetics, new technologies such as bipolar radiofrequency applications and plasma energy devices have made significant contributions in this area.

Plasma energy devices, similar to laser treatments, require careful monitoring during the healing process, and protective measures must be taken during this period. The effects last for 1-2 years.

They are effective for light skin sagging and especially for wrinkles. In bipolar radiofrequency devices, the full effect is achieved within 2-3 months, which is a slightly later stage, but the healing process is less intense, and individuals can return to their social lives immediately. You should always discuss the pros and cons of these devices with your doctor before proceeding.
